Cardinal Pair

DSC_0350

Snowing here; no surprise.  The bird feeders usually get pretty busy whenever it’s cold and snowy. Today is no exception.  The peanuts I threw around and on the feeders enticed the Bluejays and squirrels to show up in large numbers.  Among the usual visitors came a beautiful Cardinal male and female.

I was able to get a few nice shots until the camera battery died. Of course the final failed attempt would have been the best photo since Mr. Cardinal was at the closest feeder.

While attempting to get a shot of a Bluejay flying away carrying a peanut shell, I managed instead to get a blurry, yet graceful image of a Bluejay in flight. It reminded me of the V -shaped symbols we used as kids when drawing skies with birds flying about the landscape.
