Another Day

hawkA24gAnother day on the Red-tailed Hawk nest of Big Red and Ezra brings the excitement of the hatching of egg number three.  Business as usual on the nest:  meals are brought to the nest, chicks are fed,  aggressive behavior begins among siblings, starlings continue to build a nest close-by,  some starlings become dinner,  rainfall creates a photo opportunity when Ezra joins Big Red to protect the chicks.  It continues to amaze me how quickly the hawk chicks develop.  Their movements are still somewhat out of control; watching them roll over and try again is quite amusing.
